JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Elise Farris set a school record in 800m and Anna Simone advanced to semifinals in 400m hurdles in the opening day of the NCAA East Regional.

Farris finished 26th of 48 runners and broke her school record with a time of 2:06.80. Her previous mark was 2:06.89 set earlier this season.

Simone finished 2nd in her heat and will run in the semifinals Friday night at 7:45 p.m.

Valerie Palermo (steeplechase) and Sherie Key (high jump) will also be participating on Friday night. Key at 5:00 p.m. and Palermo at 9:30 p.m.
