Four Dukes Compete at ITA Atlantic Regionals

FORMAT: Single elimination

QUICK RECAP: Four women's tennis players represented Duquesne at the 2014 ITA Atlantic Regionals held on the campus of Virginia Tech this past weekend.

In singles, Kylie Isaacs was paired up against Borislava Botusharova from Old Dominion in the Main Draw. Botusharova, who was a 6-1, 6-0 winner, is the reigning Bulgarian National champion in all age divisions. In Qualifying Singles, Spencer Caravaggio fell to Taylor Newman of Radford 7-5, 6-3.

The doubles team of Isaacs and Zuzanna Stelmaszak advanced to the Round of 16 after an 8-6 win over Shannon Cleary and Madlena Kurasz from UMBC. The duo battled Kai Broomfield and Derya Turhan of Marshall, but fell 8-4.

UP NEXT: The Dukes will participate Martha Thorn Invitational at West Virginia beginning Oct. 31st.
