Joshua Patterson scored his team-leading sixth goal of the season, but it wasn't enough as the Dukes lost at Oakland Wednesday evening, 2-1 in double overtime. The Golden Grizzlies scored the game-winner off a header in the 106th minute.

The Red and Blue struck first as Patterson scored in the 13th minute off a Nick Anderson assist for the early lead. The advantage held until Oakland found the back of the net in the 63rd minute to tie the score.

Sam Frymier made seven saves in goal for DU as the Dukes were outshot, 29-13.

The Red and Blue open Atlantic 10 play on Friday, Oct. 5 as they travel to Philadelphia to face Saint Joseph's at 7:00 pm.
