Cherok Advances to NCAA East Regionals Finals

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Two members of the Duquesne women's track and field team participated in the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field East Preliminary Round held on the campus of North Florida University. Representing the Dukes are junior Nicole Cherok (400m hurdles) and senior Meg Ecker (10,000m).

Cherok finished 23rd in a field of 48 runners from 42 different institutions with a personal best and school record time of 59.57. The top 27 runners advance to the final round which will be held Friday night at 7:20 p.m. The top 12 finishers will move on to the NCAA Championship in Des Moines, Iowa.

Ecker, who was seeded 44th, finished 28th overall with a time of 36:11.80. The top 12 runners advanced to the finals.
