NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Freshman Tacquaya Tobias has been named Atlantic 10 Women's Track and Field Rookie of the Week.

Tobias qualified for the 2012 ECAC Championship in the long jump after finishing in first place with a jump of 19-11. Tobias broke the school record (previous held by Kristen Micsky, 19-1.25 in 2003) by 9.75 inches and also set a Fred Hardy Invitational record and a Robins Stadium record.

This is the second conference award for Tobias who also was A-10 ROY on Dec. 6, 2011.
