Throwers Participate at CalU Early Bird Invitational

CALIFORNIA, Pa. - The Duquesne women's track and field team opened the 2012 outdoor season with the throwers participating in the Early Bird Invitational on the campus of California University of Pennsylvania.

Arin Whitman finished first in a field of 15 in the hammer with a throw of 148-2. Whitman also was fourth out of 20 in the discus with a throw of 115-9.

Chelsea Zahn (3rd discus/127-8, 5th hammer/134-11, 3rd shot put/39-7), Mindy Haulman (4th javelin/122-8), Sydney Schwab (8th javelin/101-00) also competed for the Dukes whose next meet is this Friday at the Fred Hardy Invitational in Richmond, Va.
