Track and Field Participates at Akron

AKRON, Ohio - The Duquesne women's indoor track and field team participated in its final event before the 2012 Atlantic 10 Championship at the University of Akron this past weekend. Three Dukes set season-high-team-best times while Amber Valimont took first in the 3000m with a time of 9:54.10.

Nicole Cherok (200m/25.32), Hailey Pisarcik (800m/2:13.22) and Ashley Adams (Shot Put/49-6) all moved to the top of the list for the 2012 Indoor season in their respected fields.

Tacquaya Tobias finished first in the long jump with a distance of 19-5.25. Brittney Edwards was second in the triple jump with a distance of 37-3.75. Katelyn Cass was third in the pole vault (Blue Division) with a distance of 11-0.75.

The A-10 Championships will be held at Mackal Fieldhouse on the campus of the University of Rhode Island on Feb. 17 and 18.
