LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Duquesne women's track and field team placed first out of six team at the 2012 Gulden Invitational held on the campus of Bucknell University this past weekend.
Amber Valimont, who was named Running MVP of the event, finished first out of 25 in the mile with a time of 4:59.40. The sophomore also finished first in the 3000m with a time of 10:04.32 in a field of 24.
Tacquaya Tobias won a pair of events and finish second in another. Tobias was first in the 200m (25.70) and the long jump (18-7.75) and was second in the 60m (7.80).
Meg Ecker was first in the 5000m with a time of 17:41.32 and the 4x400 team of Nicole Cherok, Anna Simone, Brittany Sinclair and Shannon Abraham were first, crossing in 3:53.63. Edwards was also first in the triple jump with a distance of 37-9.50.
The team will split off for the next meet, competing at the GaREAT Collegiate Open and the Penn State National.
