Women's Track Participates in the Duke Invitational

DURHAM, N.C. - The Duquesne women's track and field team participated in the in the Duke Invitational this past weekend.

The Dukes finished the event with six Top 5 finishes including breaking a school record.

The 4x400 team of Nicole Cherok, Kristin Wenthen, Shannon Abraham and Taylor Glenn set a new school record with a time of 3:47.85. The previous mark was 3:49.05 set last year by Nicole McKeone, Cherok, Melissa Miller and Wenthen.

Glenn finished fourth in the 200m with a time of 25.48 followed by Wenthen who was fifth with a time of 25.59.

Glenn was fifth in the 400m crossing in 55.92 which was a new personal best.

Ashley Adams was fourth in the shot put with a throw of 45-10.5. She was also fourth in the discus with a throw of 150-09.75.

Duquesne has three more events before the 2011 Atlantic 10 Championship - two at Bucknell University (Bucknell Open and Distance Carnival on 4/15-16 and Bucknell Team Challenge 4/23) along with the historic Penn Relays on 4/28-30.
