Katie Rekart tallied a hat trick for a third straight game, but it wasn't enough as the Duquesne lacrosse team lost at Canisius Sunday afternoon, 8-7. The loss drops the Dukes record to 6-3 and puts an end to a five-game winning streak, the longest since 2006.
Meredith Dunn scored three goals to extend her scoring streak to nine games and Cailin Colegrove added a goal as well. The Dukes faced a red-hot Canisius goalkeeper who posted 15 saves as the Red and Blue outshot the Griffins, 25-19.
The Dukes return to action on Friday, April 1 as they travel to Richmond for their Atlantic 10 opener at 7:00 p.m.
