Box Score

Pittsburgh, Pa. - The Dukes put together a team effort to defeat Robert Morris Saturday afternoon with goals scored by seven different players.

Katie Rekart and Kat McNish combined for ten goals for the Dukes. Rekart finished with a team high six goals and McNish finished with four and one assist in the victory.

Rekart opened up the offense in the first two minutes of play with a goal assisted by Meghan Frederick.

Robert Morris fought back with back-to-back goals from Colleen O'Donnell at 26:19 and Ali Gibbons at 26:00. Then, at 18:00, Alana Beck took the lead for RMU with a goal assisted from Ali Gibbons to make the score 4-3.

The Dukes took control of the game after Sarah Cates regained the lead for the Dukes with back-to-back goals with 12:34 remaining in the first half.

The Dukes finished the first half with a 9-5 lead as the last goal touched the back of the net from Kat McNish at 3:20.

Rekart continued to score in the second half with a total of three goals. Two, of which, came after a Gibbons two-goal run for the Colonials.

Janna Faulkner added two goals midway through the second half to keep the Dukes over the Colonials 13-7.

The Colonials came out in the second half offensively minded with six combined goals from Gibbons and Beck. Beck finished the game with three consecutive goals for the Colonials, but it was not enough to defeat the Dukes.

Duquesne will return to Atlantic 10 Conference play at Rooney Field, Friday, April 9th at 3:00p.m. versus Massachusetts.
