TOLEDO, Ohio - The Duquesne women's tennis team concluded its 2010 Fall season at the Rocket Invitational on the campus of the University of Toledo this past weekend.
The doubles team of Samantha Noble and Judy Li led the Dukes with a perfect 3-0 record at #1 doubles. The duo won its first match against Toledo's Polina Guimaraes and Christine Chiricosta in a tie breaker by a score of 8-7 (7-3). Next up was a 8-5 victory over Cleveland State's Kara Sherwood and Nicolo Janek. Noble and Li completed the sweep with an 8-3 win over Detroit's Raina Halabi and Carolina Salas Espinosa.
Noble and Li finish the fall season with a record of 6-1.
"We worked hard and faced some excellent competition," said head coach Joe Camillo. "This was a great format facing four competitive schools."
The Dukes will return to action on Feb. 1, 2011 when they host California, Pa. at the Club Sport and Health in Monroeville, Pa. The matches start at noon.
