Red and Blue Finish Sixth at A-10 Championship

Duquesne's men's track and field team finished sixth of 11 teams at the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championship. Senior Josh Eddy collected his second silver medal, finishing second in the 5,000 meter run.

Several underclassmen finished well also as sophomore Mike Stolar placed fourth in the 5,000 in 14:53.80, freshman Vibert Defreitas finished sixth in the triple jump with a school record leap of 46-02.50, freshman Mark Bucklaw placed seventh in the 1,500 meter run in 3:57.33 and sophomore Cedric Love finished seventh in the 400 meter run in a Duquesne record time of 49.08.

In addition, the 4x100 relay team of Love, sophomore Chris Peppler, freshman Akeem Moore and Defreitas broke one of the oldest standing school records, dating back to 2002, with a time of 49.08.

The Dukes return to action on May 8-9 as they compete in the Campbell/Wright Invitational at Akron.
