Bucknell Gets Past Women's Tennis 4-3

MONROEVILLE - Bucknell's Ashley Globerman came from behind to beat Alexandria Albano 6-7, 6-3, 6-4 at No. 6 singles and give the Bison the decisive point in their 4-3 victory over the Duquesne women's tennis team Saturday afternoon at the Club 4 Life. Globerman trailed 4-1 in the third set.

The Dukes won the doubles point after the teams of Zena Williams and Rachel McGowan along with Rebecca Poole and Samantha Noble were both 8-3 winners at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles respectively. BU's Dara Dwojewski and Ashley Globerman were winners over Tara Majdalani and Albano, 8-3.

Williams cruised at No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-1 and Noble at No. 3 won a hard fought match at No. 4 singles 4-6, 7-5, 6-3.

Bucknell won No. 2 singles (Tania Varela def. McGowan, 7-6, 6-3), No. 3 singles (Lauren Lucido def. Poole, 6-2, 6-2) and No. 5 singles (Dumitrita Iepuras def. Majdalani, 7-6, 6-3) along with No. 6 singles.

Duquesne (1-3, 1-0) has a pair of Atlantic 10 Conference teams this upcoming weekend - St. Bonaventure on Saturday and George Washington on Sunday. Both matches will be played at the Club 4 Life.
