PITTSBURGH - Duquesne made it a clean sweep of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Football League's weekly awards as sophomore quarterback Kevin Rombach (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) was named Offensive Player, junior cornerback Aaron Strader (Pittsburgh, Pa./Westinghouse) was named Defensive Player and freshman linebacker Nathan Totino (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton-La Salle) was named Rookie of the Week for their performances in Duquesne's 30-23 overtime win at Sacred Heart.
Rombach, making his first start of the season, guided the DU offense to a season-high 457 yards of total offense. He completed 29-of-41 passes for 316 yards and a touchdown in becoming the sixth DU quarterback to ever throw for over 300 yards in a game. His 29 completions tied the second-highest single-game total in school history.
Strader, who finished with five tackles, made the game's biggest play when he intercepted a pass in the end zone on Sacred Heart's first possession of overtime to preserve the victory.
Totino posted a game-high 14 tackles (eight solo) - including a tackle for a loss - and also broke up a pass to lead the DU defense.
The Dukes (1-2) host Frostburg State (1-2) in a Homecoming match-up on Saturday, Sept. 29 at Rooney Field. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m.
