Sacramento, Calif. - Junior Tom Slosky (Brackenridge, Pa. / Highlands) completed Duquesne University's 2006-07 sports season in Friday evening's 2007 NCAA Division I track and field 3,000 meter stepplechase championship final race at the Alex G. Spanos Sports Complex on Sacramento State's campus.

Slosky, whose mark of 8:43.39 in Wednesday's preliminary races had broken his own Duquesne record, finished 14th of 15 runners with a time of 8:52.70. Mississippi's Barnabas Kirui crossed the finish line in 8:20.36, the 12th fastest time in the world this year.

The race was televised nationally on CSTV. The network was able to correct technical difficulties, that had disrupted transmission of some of Friday's earlier events, in time for this competition.

Slosky, who became Duquesne's first student-athlete to qualify for the NCAA track & field national championships as a sophomore, competed in the finals for the first time this year.
