Distance Runners Hit Stride at Bucknell

Duquesne's track team had a split squad this weekend with the distance runners competing in the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell April 13-14. Three Dukes turned in IC4A Championship qualifying times led by junior Tom Slosky who had an NCAA Regional qualifying time in his second different event.

Slosky finished third in the 5,000-meter run with a school-record time of 14:08.38. It is the second straight week he has set a regional qulaifying time after last week's performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.

In the 10,000 meter run, sophomore Josh Eddy finished third and set a school record with his IC4A time of 30:06.45. Senior Chris Horvat followed in 10th place of the 47-runner field with a personal-best time of 30:51.63.

The IC4A Championship will be held May 11-13 at Princeton University while the NCAA East Regional is slated for May 25-26 at the University of Florida.

Next up for the Dukes is the Bucknell Five-Way this Saturday, April 21.
