Final Stats
PITTSBURGH, PA - Bucknell's Katie Hartsock stopped 18 shots and Carol Donahue found the net four times as the Bison held off Duquesne 11-9 Sunday Afternoon.
The loss spoiled a tremendous day for Sarah Cates. She finished the day with four goals, 13 shots (11 on goal), two ground balls and two caused turnovers.
After Donahue scored her second goal of the game at the 5:43 mark of the first half, Bucknell had its largest lead of the game,five goals (8-3). Duquesne (3-3) came back to score three goals in just over two minutes as Janna Faulkner scored once and Cates twice to trim the Bison lead to 8-6 going into halftime.
Cates' shot went past Hartsock to get the Red & Blue within one at the 27:06 mark of the second half. Less than two minutes later, Donahue scored her third of the game to give the Bison a two-goal advantage once again at 9-7. Faulkner's goal from Kathleen McNish at 14:56 brought the Dukes deficit to 9-8. Once again, the Bison answered on a Lauren Deitrich goal 33 seconds later. Faulkner got DU close again at 10-9 with a goal at 9:07, but Donahue's fourth goal of the game at 8:10 closed the scoring as the Bison got their first road win of the season.
The Dukes return to the field Saturday, March 24 as they visit our nation's capitol when the play Howard. Game time is at 1:00 pm. The next home game will be Friday, March 30 when Denver visits Rooney Field.

- Duquesne's 40 shots was the second highest total this season (46 vs. Monmouth)
- DU's 27 shots on goal is a season high
