Akron, Ohio - Juniors Samantha Howard and Amy Ruffolo took second and third in the 3,000 meter run Saturday at the 2007 Akron Open at UA's Athletics Field House. Ruffalo was four seconds behind Howard's time of 9:56:00.
Duquesne's women's track and field team captured three more bonze medals: sophomore Charlene Garth in the 400 meter dash (59.23), freshman Merritt Woods in the high jump (1.52 meters; 4' 11.75"), and the quartet of junior Erica Moody, sophomores Garth and Kathy Parker, and freshman Melissa Miller in the 4 x 400 meter relay (4:00.52).
The Dukes next head to Lewisburg, Pa. for the Bucknell Winter Classic on Saturday, February 10, 2007.
