Press Release With MAAC Teams 
A league-high 22 Duquesne University football players were named First or Second Team All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in a vote of league coaches released November 29.
Senior receiver Bruce Hocker (Upper Marlboro, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt), who finished his career with 33 career touchdowns and a school record 163 receptions and graduate student transfer Derron Thomas (Forestville, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt/Pittsburgh), who led the team with 106 tackles this season, headlined a group of 14 players named to the All-MAAC First Team.
Joining Hocker on the first team offense were sophomore quarterback Kevin Rombach (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin) who three for 20 touchdown passes and set a school with a 61.0 completion percentage, place kicker Mark Troyan (Ford City, Pa./Ford City), tight end Calvin Gitter (Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks West) and linemen Hatim Chafi (Rockville, Md./Richard Montgomery), Matt Stansfield (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) and J.T. Stefanik (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands).
Defensively, linemen Travis Decker (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) and Mykol Gardiner (Cleveland, Ohio/Benedictine), defensive backs Paul Mulbah (Greenbelt, Md./ Eleanor Roosevelt) and Aaron Strader (Pittsburgh, Pa./Westinghouse) and punter David Kovalcik (Chantilly, Va./Chantilly) joined Thomas on the first team defense.
Nine players were named to the All-MAAC Second Team including MAAC Defensive Co-Rookie of the Year freshman linebacker Nathan Totino (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton La Salle). Totino was second on the team with 93 tackles, including a league-high 50 solo stops. A five-time MAAC Rookie of the Week, he also had 1.5 tackles for a loss of three yards, two passes defended and one fumble recovery.
Others on the second team were fellow linebacker John Simmons (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum), defensive linemen Ronnie Garvin (Aiken, S.C./Aiken) and Lou Levine (Export, Pa/Franklin Regional), running back Greg Hough (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine- Richland), wide receiver Alex Roberson (Waynesboro, Ga./Curtis Baptist Upper School), tight end Sean Bunevich (North Ridgefield, Ohio/North Ridgefield) and offensive linemen Matt Kikta (Upper St. Clair, Pa./Upper St. Clair) and Steve Kuhns (Lafayette, N.Y./Christian Brothers Academy).
