Peoria, Ill. - Duquesne's men's soccer team opened the 2006 campaign with a 2-1 victory over Western Michigan in the opening match of the fourth annual Bradley Classic, held at the Braves' Shea Stadium Friday.

The Broncos (0-1) jumped out to a lead behind Tom Oatley's tally in the 30th minute. The Dukes (1-0) responded 11 minutes later though as junior Travis MacKenzie registered his first goal of the season inside the left post from eight yards out to tie the score.

The Red and Blue took the lead for good just five minutes into the second frame as junior Dan Morton made his first collegiate goal a game-winner off assists from senior Brian Bartek and MacKenzie. Junior transfer John DelGreco and junior Nick Balara assisted on the first half goal.

The Dukes return to action tomorrow, Saturday, Aug. 26 as they face host Bradley at 8:30 pm EST.
