The Duquesne women's track & field competed at the ECAC championships on the campus of Princeton this past weekend taking top 10 placings in five events. The event ended the season for the squad, but DU's Amy Ruffolo will continue on participating in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the NCAA Regionals. Leading the way at ECACs was seniors Melissa Stewart taking 7th in the discus and Briannne Scott's 8th place showing in the 3,000 m steeplechase.
Stewart led the Dukes' with her seventh-place toss of 152' 7" in the discus to get things underway on Friday. Scott's time of 10:59.33 in the 3,000 m steeplechase put her at eighth on Friday while sophomore Samantha Howard took 17th in the 5,000 m run with her 17:19.62 performance to end the day's events.
Senior Kristen Micsky posted a 5' 5.0" performance in the high jump - putting her in a four-way tie for 10th and she placed 29th with her distance of 37' 9.50" in the triple jump.
Sophomore Amy Ruffolo placed 10th in the 3,000 m run with her 10:03.55 effort while Duquesne's 4 x 800 m relay (Howard, Tara Gerlach, Emily Beahan, Scott) took ninth crossing in 9:18.65 in the finals.
