Dukes Top Bucknell, 4-2

Lewisburg, Pa. - Duquesne's womens tennis team topped Bucknell, 4-2, Friday afternoon in the Bison's Gerhard Fieldhouse. The win was the sixth in the Dukes' last seven matches.

Junior Jacqueline Hughes topped Chelsea Mills in three sets (3-6, 6-4, 6-3) and freshman Rebecca Poole, the A-10 Rookie of the Week, junior Alicia McNamara and freshman Abigail Ball each won their head-to-head matches in straight sets.

Due to weather conditions and facility issues, the match was played to decision beginning with singles play.

Duquesne improved to 12-6 overall, 8-6 on their 2006 calendar. Bucknell dropped to 5-8.

The Dukes conclude the regular season schedule with two non-conference contests, both against local Big East foes. Pittsburgh will host Duquesne on Wednesday, April 12, 2006. The Red and Blue then take on West Virginia the following Tuesday, April 18th, at the Club 4 Life in Monroeville, Pa. Both matches will start at 1:00 p.m.
