Philadelphia, Pa. - Duquesne University's women's track and field team competed in two events in Friday's second day of the 2006 Penn Relays at UP's Franklin Field.

Senior Kristen Micsky (Greenville, Pa. / Reynolds) was in action in her second event of this three-day tournament. She recorded a mark of 11.34 meters in the triple jump which was good for 17th place among 35 competitors. Micsky helped the 400 meter relay team to a new school record on Thursday.

The Dukes' 200 meter relay team of sophomores Shonte' Cook (Moon Twp., Pa. / Moon) and Erica Moody (Pittsburgh, Pa. / Oakland Catholic) and freshmen Ashley Earnest (Altoona, Pa. / Altoona) and Kathy Parker (Macungie, Pa./ Emmaus), were sixth in their heat with a time of 1:43.43. This young quartet was just 12/100s of a second shy of the Duquesne record set in 2004.

The competition concludes Saturday.
