Pittsburgh, Pa. - Duquesne University's women's tennis team shut out Division II Mercyhurst College, 9-0, Saturday afternoon on the Dukes' home courts.

All six single matches were won in straight sets. Freshman Rachel McGowan (Canfield, Ohio / Canfield) topped Meghan Raynor, 6-0, 6-1, to pace the Red and Blue's efforts. McGowan also teamed up with junior Johanna Bezjak (Salisbury, Md. / James M. Bennett) for one of the three doubles victories.

This match concludes the Dukes fall schedule. Coach Joe Camillo's charges will return to play in February 2007.
