Results

The Duquesne women's tennis team captured a 4-3 win at Akron Friday afternoon in a non-conference match-up. Three Dukes won in both doubles and singles in freshman Johanna Bezjak and sophonores Jackie Hughes and Ciara McDermott.

Bezjak took a 6-3, 6-0 win at first singles and teamed up with senior Julie Wagner for an 8-1 second doubles victory. Hughes won easily at second singles with 6-2, 6-2 sets and grabbed a 9-7 first doubles victory with freshman Andrea Sailer. McDermott came from behend, 5-7, to take sixth singles 6-2, 6-2 and teamed with senior Sarah Shanahan for an 8-4 margin at third doubles.

The win put the Red & Blue at 2-2 for the Spring, 5-3 overall on the year.
