Duquesne University's Melissa Stewart (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) has been named the Atlantic 10's Women's Track & Field Performer of the Week as announced by the league office. It is her first weekly citation this season.

Stewart, a sophomore throws specialist, finished first in the discus at the Indiana University (PA) Open April 24 with a school-record and NCAA Regional qualifying mark of 160' 9.00". Her mark also stands first among A-10 leaders this year. She placed third in the meet with a throw of 42' 4.25" in the shot put as well.

It was a busy week for Stewart who also threw at the Penn Relays on April 22 where she took eighth overall with a distance of 146' 10" in the discus. She was also 16th in the shot put at Penn with a mark of 41' 7.75.

The Dukes close out the regular season this weekend as they compete in the Atlantic 10 Championships in Richmond, VA.
