Philadelphia, Pa - Junior Ryan Bender (Indiana, PA / Indiana) finished in 19th place of the Penn Relays 10,000 meter championship on Thursday afternoon.

Bender, the only Duquesne men's track and field athlete competing on day one of the 110th annual Penn Relay Carnival, recorded a time 31:11.63 in the 35-runner event. The western Pennsylvania native set the new Duquesne record (30:50.03) this year at the Raleigh Relays.

The Penn Relays continue Friday and Saturday.
