Duquesne University's Kelly Mulford (Lutherville, Md./Maryland Prep) has been named the 2003 Atlantic 10 Women's Lacrosse Rookie of the Year as voted upon by the league head coaches. She is joined by teammates Ginger Flocco (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Plymouth-Whitemarsh) and Krista Mann (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) who were selected to the All-Conference Team.
Mulford, a freshman, started all 16 games at attack and ranked second for the Dukes with 32 goals and 36 points. A two-time Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, she led Duquesne netting four game winning goals - Denver, Davidson, Bucknell, Saint Joseph's. Mulford stood eighth in the Atlantic 10 in goals and 11th in assists. She also racked up 21 ground balls, won five draws and forced five opponent turnovers.

Flocco, a two-time Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, led the Dukes with 42 goals, 55 points, 54 draws won and 37 caused turnovers. The sophomore midfielder was third in ground balls with 33 and ranked second among Atlantic 10 leaders in goals, draws won and caused turnovers. She was fifth in the A-10 in points and ranked seventh nationally in draws won and 11th in caused turnovers. Flocco is second in the Duquesne career records book in draws won with 98, ranks sixth with 18 assists and is seventh with 59 goals, 77 points and 53 caused turnovers.
A freshman defender, Mann started all 16 contests and ranked second for the Dukes with 40 ground balls, 38 draws won and 34 caused turnovers. She committed just 11 turnovers on the season and stood second in the Atlantic 10 in draws won and caused turnovers as well. Offensively, Mann scored two goals and added an assist. She stood 18th nationally in caused turnovers and had three games where she forced five opponent turnovers. Mann is fourth on the Duquesne single-season list in draws won and is tied for seventh in caused turnovers.
The Dukes went 9-7 overall, 3-4 in the Atlantic 10 this past season and finished tied for fourth in the league standings.
