Duquesne freshman Gary Malinko (Old Forge, PA/Scranton Prep) was named the Atlantic 10 Men's Outdoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office today.

Malinko finished second of 49 competitors in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.11 at the Baldwin Wallace Invitational on Saturday, April 26. He also placed second of 55 runners in the 1,500-meter run in 3:57.72. Malinko had previously established school records in both events.

The Dukes return to action this weekend as they travel to Richmond for the Atlantic 10 Championship.
