Duquesne's women's tennis squad split a double set of dual matches on Saturday at Dayton's Kennedy Union Courts. The Dukes were edged out by Fordham 4-3 in the morning contest but rebounded to top the host Flyers 4-2 in the afternoon.
Senior Marina Zelenovic (Belgrade, Yugoslavia / 11th H.S. of Belgrade / Missouri) won both No. 2 singles compettitions in three-sets. Junior Katie Riedinger (Plum Borough, Pa. / Plum) took both No. 3 singles in the minimum two sets while sophomore Sarah Shanahan (Columbus, OH / Bishop Watterson) took her No. 4 singles matches. Sophomore Julie Wagner (Erie, PA / General McLane) defeated Dayton's Katy Lawdrigan, 6-0, 3-6, 6-3, in the number 5 singles.
The Dukes (2-2, 1-2) next face Temple in Philadelphia on Fri. Feb. 21 at 7 p.m.
