Dukes Head To ECAC Championships

In all, seven members of the Duquesne women's track & field program will compete in the ECAC Championships this weekend in Princeton, NJ.

The Dukes will be represented in four events as they compete in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, shot put, javelin and 4 x 800 meter relay.

Also hitting qualifying marks at this past season's league championship was sophomore Erica DaCosta with a Duquesne record throw of 137' 8.00" in the javelin and the 4 x 800 meter relay squad made up of senior Sarah Saunders, sophomore Carrie Hucko and freshmen Alison Buchanan and Michelle Flynn.

Freshman Marcie Hepler will compete in the shot put where she smashed the previous Duquesne record of 41' 3.00" (Amy Francisco 1988) with her toss of 44' 5.00" at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational.
