Freshman running back Kyle Postell (Greenbelt, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt) has been named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Football League Rookie of the Week for his performance in Duquesne's 46-0 win at La Salle on Saturday.
Postell, who moved from defensive back to running back three games into the season, came off the bench to post his second consecutive 100-yard game with 130 yards on 17 carries (7.6 ypc.) against the Explorers. The 6-0, 185-pounder, who did not enter the game until the second quarter, scored on runs of 11, 1 and 12 yards in helping the league-leading Dukes to their 21st consecutive MAAC Football League victory.
Postell has now rushed for 269 yards (6.9 ypc.) and five scores in Duquesne's last two games. He is the fourth different DU freshman to win MAAC Rookie of the Week honors this season. Back-up quarterback Ben Palumbo was named Rookie of the Week on Sept. 16, safety Javonn Bradley won the award the week of Sept. 23 and middle linebacker Harry Carter was tabbed on Oct. 7.
Duquesne (8-0, 5-0), the No. 1 ranked team in the Sports Network I-AA Mid-Major Poll, takes on Iona (5-3, 4-2) this weekend at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday at Rooney Field.

Note: In addition, three seniors -- defensive back Leigh Bodden (Sept. 9), wide receiver Jeremy Conley (Sept. 20) and linebacker Mitchell Zobb (Oct. 14) -- have been named MAAC Footbal League Players of the Week.
