Terre Haute, Indiana -- - Duquesne women's cross-country team finished in 17th place in their 29 team heat at the NCAA Pre-Nationals hosted by Indiana State University at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course at the Wabash Valley Family Sports Center.
The Red and Blue were again paced by junior Carrie Hucko (Wexford, Pa. / North Allegheny / Miami-OH) who finished in 16th place among 177 team runners with a time of 22:07.7 in the 6,000 meter open division. Sophomore Michelle Flynn (Monroeville, Pa. / Gateway) followed with a time of 23:14.8 and 69th place. A total of 275 runners competed in this heat; 788 participants overall in three heats.
The Dukes are off until Saturday, November 2, 2002, when the Red and Blue host the Atlantic 10 championships at Pittsburgh's Schenley Park.
