Mike Fuhrman joined the coaching staff in 2022 and will enter his third season working primarily with the outside linebackers in 2024.
Furhman helped coach the Dukes to an outright Northeast Conference championship and an NCAA FCS Playoff appearance in 2023.
Fuhrman coached junior linebacker Todd Hill to a first-team all-conference selection in his first season. Hill led the NEC in both tackles for loss per game (2.0) and sacks per game (1.05), which were good for second and third nationally in the FCS ranks.
Fuhrman arrived on The Bluff after a four-year stint as the linebackers coach at Westminster in New Wilmington, Pa. Prior to that, he served as an assistant offensive line coach at Robert Morris in 2017 and a tight ends coach at Tiffin in Ohio.
Fuhrman started his career at East Stroudsburg University, where he was an intern in 2012. Fuhrman then moved to the North Allegheny School District, where he served as a freshman football coach in 2013. In 2014, Fuhrman worked as an assistant coach for the Boston Brawlers of the Fall Experimental Football League (FXFL).
Fuhrman, who is a 2012 graduate of Penn State, was a long snapper with the Nittany Lions under hall of fame head coach Joe Paterno and current Alabama offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien. During his time with Penn State, Fuhrman was named “Most Outstanding Walk-On” and earned the Maxwell Club Spirit Award.
