John Rosato is in his 30th season as a member of the Duquesne staff, including the past 17 as director of football operations and recruiting coordinator. Rosato, who coached wide receivers, tight ends and running backs prior to assuming his current position, has been part of the DU program for over a quarter century.
A 1973 graduate of Duquesne, Rosato was involved with the football program as a student, working with the `73 club football national champions. Rosato, a Pittsburgh native, attended St. Mark's High School in Erie, Pa. before enrolling at Duquesne.
Rosato, who also served as a board member in the former Dukes Court Athletic Association, was honored for his commitment to the athletics program with his induction to the Duquesne Sports Hall of Fame in November 2007. He was also inducted to the Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame along with former University of Pittsburgh and Miami Dolphins quarterback Dan Marino in April of 2011.
Rosato, who is engaged to Susanne Sellari, resides in the Squirrel Hill section of Pittsburgh. He has three children - Nikki, a Duquesne graduate, Danielle and John, who is also a DU grad. In addition, Rosato has four grandchildren - Kevin, Sean, Sophia and Athena.
