At the Tee Box
 
- The Duquesne University women's golf team tees off on its 2026-27 season with a pair of competitions this week, beginning with the Nittany Lion Invitational Monday, Sept. 7, to Tuesday, Sept. 8, in University Park, Pa., at the Penn State Blue Course. The 54-hole tournament features two rounds Monday and the final round Tuesday.
 
- The Dukes will also head to Lewisburg, Pa., to take part in the Bucknell Fall Invitational Friday, Sept. 11, through Sunday, Sept. 13. Another 54-hole tournament, Duquesne will play a round each of the three days at Bucknell Club Golf in Lewisburg, Pa.
 
- It marks the second consecutive year the Dukes are heading to participate in the Nittany Lion Invitational, while Duquesne has taken part in the Bucknell Fall Invitational in each of its first three years as an NCAA Division I program.
 
- The Dukes return seven of their eight golfers from last season, including junior Sasha Petrochko. A two-time Atlantic 10 All-Conference honoree, Petrochko also was named to the 2026 Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team.
 
- Petrochko is the only golfer for Duquesne to have played all 42 rounds over the last two years and owns a career scoring average of 76.024 for the Dukes. In 16 career tournaments, Petrochko owns nine finishes in the top 10, including four in the top five.
 
- Junior Abby Slankster finished as the top individual for Duquesne at the 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship, just missing the top 10 by carding a 240 (84, 79, 77). She closed the tournament in 11th individually. To open the 2026 spring season, Slankster fired a 231 over 54 holes at the Space Coast Classic, a career best.
 
- Duquesne established program standards in its second season of NCAA Division I competition in both a 36-hole and 54-hole tournament during the 2025 fall portion of its schedule. The 620 at the Red Flash Invitational is the best score for the Dukes in a 36-hole event, while at the Bucknell Fall Invitational to open the year Duquesne handed in a 929 over 54 holes.
 
- In her third season as head coach at Duquesne is Colleen Meyers, who was selected to lead the program in August of 2023. She spent two seasons as an assistant coach with Carnegie Mellon from 2021 to 2023 and also was the head coach at Oakland Catholic High School from 2015 to 2023.
 
- Earlier this month, Duquesne Athletics announced a partnership with Golf Galaxy to support the women's golf program. As part of the package, Golf Galaxy serves as the title sponsor of the inaugural Golf Galaxy Collegiate, which will be played at the end of September at Sewickley Heights Country Club.
 
- Women's golf was added in April of 2022 at Duquesne along with triathlon and acrobatics & tumbling. Triathlon made its debut during the 2023-24 season and is in its fourth season, while both women's golf and acrobatics & tumbling are in its third season of competition, respectively, in 2026-27.
 
- Sewickley Heights Golf Club serves as the home of Duquesne golf. Founded in 1961, the course is used for practice for the program and has also hosted the United States Women's Amateur in 1966 and the Champion's Pittsburgh Senior Classic in 1998.
