- Last Time Out: Duquesne earned its first Atlantic 10 victory of the season with a 10-8 win over La Salle last Saturday on Senior Day at Rooney Field. Seniors Chelsea Evans, Emma Raines and Chloe Holmes each scored twice to lead the Dukes, while Mia Piocquidio added two goals and an assist. Megan Marco recorded a goal and an assist, and Gracin Emerson finished with four assists and a goal. After La Salle cut a three-goal deficit to 9-8 in the fourth quarter, Evans sealed the win with under two minutes remaining. Ella Roach made a season-high 14 saves, while Madison Welch controlled 14 draws.
- Weekly Honors: Chelsea Evans was named Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week after totaling seven caused turnovers and five ground balls across two games. Evans also scored four times last week with two goals in the win over La Salle. She ranks second in the A-10 in caused turnovers per game (2.08) and seventh in ground balls (2.23), while recording 25 goals on the season.
- National Leaders: Junior Gracin Emerson and senior Emma Raines continue to pace the nation statistically. Emerson leads Division I in assists per game (4.54), while Raines ranks No. 1 nationally in shot percentage (65.3%).
- Raining Goals: Emma Raines leads the Dukes with 32 goals, averaging 2.46 per game to rank eighth in the Atlantic 10. She has recorded a team-best seven hat tricks this season and posted her 10th multi-goal game in the La Salle win.
- Statistically Speaking: Duquesne ranks 15th nationally in shot percentage (.478) and ninth in free-position percentage (.545). The Dukes have scored 140 goals on 293 shots and are 24-for-44 from the free-position arc.
- In The Record Book:
- Gracin Emerson owns the Duquesne single-season assist record with 59 and counting after surpassing the previous mark in Game 9. She has also eclipsed 100 career points and currently has 69 points this season, tied for 10th on the program's single-season list (record: 80). Emerson leads all NCAA divisions in assists per game (4.54) and is within reach of the Division I single-season record (4.63; Ashley Humphrey, Stanford, 2022), needing 11 assists over the final two games to set a new mark. She has tied the program's single-game assist record (seven) twice and is one of only three Division I players with multiple seven-assist performances this season. Emerson has posted six or more assists in four games and ranks 10th nationally averaging 5.31 points per game.
- Freshman Madison Welch has set the program's single-game draw control record twice (14 at Mercyhurst, 15 vs. George Mason). Her 85 draw controls rank second in program history, trailing only Maddie Hart's 117 in 2019. Welch is second in the A-10, averaging 6.54 draws per game, and earned Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors after her 15 draws vs. George Mason earlier this year.
- Defensive Dukes: Three Dukes rank among the top six in the Atlantic 10 in caused turnovers per game — Chelsea Evans (2nd, 2.08), Casey McBride (3rd, 1.85) and Addison Scanlon (6th, 1.46). Scanlon and Evans also rank among the top seven in ground balls per game. Freshman goalkeeper Ella Roach is second in the A-10 with 9.23 saves per game and has recorded double-digit saves in six contests.

Notes: Duquesne has won 11 of the last 13 meetings since 2011. Each of the last three wins has been decided by one goal. Last season, the Dukes scored with 1:22 remaining for an 11-10 victory after GW tied the game late. In the last trip to Washington, Duquesne earned a 15-14 overtime win on a fast-break goal with just over 90 seconds left after forcing OT with a free-position goal in the final second of regulation.
30TH SEASON OF DUKES LACROSSE
Duquesne lacrosse is celebrating its 30th season as a varsity program on the Bluff in 2026. The Dukes, who began play in 1997, own an all-time record of 241-242 and have made 15 Atlantic 10 Championship appearances, highlighted by two regular-season co-championships.
