Pittsburgh, Pa. – For the fourth time during the 2025-26 season, the Duquesne University bowling team swept the Northeast Conference (NEC) weekly awards, with senior
Emma Siekierski being named the NEC Bowler of the Week Wednesday, while freshman
Jazmyn Scott was tabbed NEC Rookie of the Week.
Siekierski, a native of Davison, Mich., was honored for her performance in helping the Dukes qualify for the ITC Championship for the fourth time in the last five years this past weekend. At AMF Mt. Lebanon Lanes, Siekierski posted an average frame of 20.42 to go along with an overall fill percentage of 86.7 percent as Duquesne finished third at the ITC Sectional. She also averaged 9.06 on her first ball.
Individually at the ISC Sectionals, Siekierski just missed qualifying for the ISC Championship, finishing ninth in a field of 163 bowlers. She knocked down a total 1,194 pins, just 14 shy of finishing in the top six and advancing to the ISC Championship. The honor for Siekierski marks the first time in her career she was named NEC Bowler of the Week. As a freshman during the 2022-23 campaign she was selected NEC Rookie of the Week March 15, 2023.
Overall this year heading into the NEC Championship this season, Siekierski owns an average frame of 19.83 to go along with an 86.4 overall fill percentage and an average of 8.98 on her first ball. She also owns 516 strikes in 1,163 total attempts, a success rate of 44.4 percent.
Scott, a native of Urbana, Ohio, collects her fourth NEC Rookie of the Week nod of the 2025-26 campaign, matching teammate
Taylor Miller this year. At the ITC Sectional, Scott provided Duquesne with an average frame of 17.46, a 75.8 overall fill percentage and an average of 8.70 on her first ball. She was also successful on 73.2 percent of her makeable spares.
Among NEC leaders this season, Siekierski finished second in overall fill percentage (88.3%), while her scoring average of 20.623 ranked fourth in the circuit. Scott, meanwhile, posted an overall fill percentage of 81.4 percent in traditional play in her first NCAA Division I campaign, which ranked 15th in the NEC.
Thanks to Scott and Miller each being named NEC Rookie of the Week four times this season, the eight combined honors are the most in a season in program history. During the 2017-18 season, Olivia Farwell was named NEC Rookie of the Week a program standard seven times, while in 2019-20, Crystal Elliott won the award four times and Kiearra Saldi on three occasions. In addition, the 12 total weekly honors for the Dukes this year matches the most in program history originally set in 2019-20 (five bowler, seven rookie) and matched in 2022-23 (seven bowler, five rookie).
Led by head coach
Jody Fetterhoff, Duquesne travels to Hamilton, N.J., this weekend for the 2026 NEC Championship at Hamilton Lanes. The Dukes enter as the No. 2 seed after earning a share of the 2026 NEC regular-season crown with Niagara. The Purple Eagles are the No. 1 seed.
