Clarion, Pa. – The Duquesne University diving team competed Saturday afternoon against Clarion and Grove City at the Waldo S. Tippin Natatorium, with three divers achieving diving zone qualifying standards.
THREE-METER
In the three-meter event, sophomore
Brianne Dempsey claimed first place with a final score of 279.23 across six dives. Senior
Ashley Felitsky finished fourth with a score of 251.85, followed by freshman
Elly Huron in fifth at 243.23. Graduate student
Lola Dragosavac placed seventh after posting a 241.95, while freshman
Grace Hedger totaled 235.80. Junior
Erin Castagnero rounded out the Dukes' scoring with a final score of 219.38.
ONE-METER
In the one-meter dive, Dragosavac, Dempsey, and Felitsky each posted Diving Zone–qualifying scores to lead the Dukes. Dragosavac finished second with a score of 278.63, marking her second Diving Zone qualification of her career and her first in a Duquesne uniform. Dempsey placed third with a score of 267.63, earning her first career Diving Zone qualification as a Duke. Felitsky followed closely in fourth, recording a score of 265.58 to qualify for the Diving Zones in the one-meter event. She has now qualified in both the one-meter and three-meter events this season. Huron (229.13) and Hedger (227.63) placed fifth and sixth, respectively, while Castagnero rounded out the field with a score of 214.20.
