Pittsburgh, Pa. – A trio of Duquesne swimming and diving student-athletes earned spots on the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) All-America Team, as graduate student
Lola Dragosavac and sophomores
Sierra Snow and
Brianne Dempsey were each recognized with All-America Second Team honors.
To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship. Second-Team selections, must have also earned a 3.5 GPA or higher and met an NIC "A" time standard in Division I or an NCAA "B" qualifying standard for the national championship or qualified for a diving zone qualification meet for Division II, Division III, and NAIA.
Dragosavac, a native of Lake Mary, Fla., earned her degree in applied and public sociology while maintaining a perfect 4.00 GPA. She earned CSCAA All-America recognition after qualifying for the NCAA Diving Zones in the one-meter dive for the second time in her career. On the boards, she totaled 237.50 points in the one-meter at the Atlantic 10 Championships and consistently produced podium finishes throughout the season. She recorded a third-place finish against St. Bonaventure and claimed gold in the one-meter while finishing runner-up in the three-meter at Marshall. Dragosavac also added another one-meter victory and a third-place finish in the three-meter at the Richmond Duals, along with a seventh-place finish in the one-meter against West Virginia and Villanova. This marks the second time in her career she has earned CSCAA All-America recognition.
A cybersecurity major from Ijamsville, Md., Snow has maintained a 3.74 GPA while earning CSCAA All-America honors for the second consecutive season. She delivered a standout performance at the Atlantic 10 Championships, capturing gold in the 500 freestyle (4:45.77) and the 200 backstroke (1:55.15). Snow also earned a silver medal in the 100 freestyle (54.08) and helped the 800 freestyle relay to a gold-medal finish in 7:16.52, while contributing to a bronze-medal performance in the 400 medley relay (3:41.47). She additionally swam a key leg on the 200 medley relay that set a new school record (1:40.40). Across the season, Snow established herself among the program's all-time greats, holding the school record in the 500 freestyle and ranking second all-time in the 200 backstroke. She also sits sixth in the 200 freestyle (1:48.63) and owns a top program mark in the 100 backstroke (54.08). Her success extended beyond the conference meet, as she placed sixth in the 200 backstroke (1:56.69) at the CSCAA National Invitational Championship and finished ninth in the event at the Toyota U.S. Open Championships. During the regular season, the sophomore won the 200 backstroke (1:55.86) and placed second in the 100 backstroke (54.86) at the West Virginia Invitational, while also recording multiple top-three finishes in dual meets against West Virginia and Villanova.
Dempsey, a native of Shavertown, Pa., is earning her degree as a physician assistant while maintaining a 4.00 GPA. She earns CSCAA All-America recognition for the second straight season after qualifying for the NCAA Diving Zones in the one-meter dive for the second consecutive year, continuing a strong campaign on the boards. At the Atlantic 10 Championships, she totaled 231.35 points in the one-meter and 214.30 in the three-meter to place eighth in both events. Dempsey carried that momentum into postseason competition, finishing with 223.65 points at the CSCAA National Invitational Championship. During the regular season, she recorded multiple top finishes, including a first-place performance in the one-meter (249.90) in a tri-meet against Marshall and Bowling Green, along with a fourth-place finish in the three-meter (227.03) at the same meet. She added a third-place finish in the one-meter (249.85) against West Virginia and Villanova, and closed the dual-meet slate with a second-place finish in the three-meter (222.45) and third in the one-meter (227.20) against Richmond at the Richmond Duals.
