Pittsburgh, Pa. – Duquesne University men's basketball assistant coach
Chase Goldstein was named to the Silver Waves Media 100 Most Impactful Mid-Major Assistants Monday. In its seventh year, the list honors assistant coaches across the NCAA Division I landscape that positively impact their program, with over 40 previous selections having advanced to the role of head coach.
Goldstein, a native of Coral Springs, Fla., is in his second season on the coaching staff for the Dukes after spending two seasons at the University of Missouri, first as director of operations and the second as chief of staff. He is part of a staff led by head coach
Dru Joyce III that has led Duquesne to an overall record of 9-6 (.600) this season, including a 1-1 (.500) mark in the Atlantic 10. Joyce III was named to the Silver Waves Media 100 Most Impactful Mid-Major Assistants in 2024.
One of eight assistant coaches to be honored from the Atlantic 10, Goldstein joins Steve Curran (George Mason), Ryan Daly (VCU), James Kane (Dayton) Dwayne Lee (George Washington), Chris Lowe (St. Bonaventure), Brett Putz (Saint Louis) and Will Reigel (Davidson).
Goldstein is a 2016 graduate of Florida Golf Coast, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. He spent three years with the men's basketball program as a manager, with the Eagles appearing in the postseason each season, including a run to the Sweet 16 of the 2013 NCAA Championship, the 2014 National Invitation Tournament (NIT) and the 2015 CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT).
Upon graduating from FGCU, Goldstein spent the 2015-16 as video coordinator for the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA) before returning to Florida Gulf Coast in the role of assistant coordinator of operations for the 2016-17 campaign. From 2017-19, Goldstein served on the video coordinator staff at Florida State before spending three seasons as director of basketball operations at Cleveland State University. Joyce III served as an assistant coach with the Vikings for two seasons while Goldstein was on staff at CSU.
The honor for Goldstein from Silver Waves Media is the second during his career, as he was also named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) 30 Under 30 Team in 2019.
