PITTSBURGH – Duquesne quarterback
Tyler Riddell has been named Northeast Conference (NEC) Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday. Riddell is the first Duke to earn Player of the Week honors this season.
The graduate quarterback accounted for five touchdowns in Duquesne's 44-18 win over New Haven, throwing for three and rushing for two. He completed 15 of 23 passes for 201 yards and added a career-high 63 rushing yards on seven carries. It was his third game this season with multiple touchdown passes and the ninth of his career with three or more.
Wide receiver
Joey Isabella and linebacker
Avery Morris were also selected as NEC Prime Performers. Isabella, recognized for the third time this season, caught a career-high three touchdowns in the first half and finished with six receptions for 92 yards, including a 61-yard score. Morris earned his first Prime Performer honor of the year after returning an interception 34 yards for a pick-six to give Duquesne its largest lead of the day in the third quarter. It was his first career pick-six and the second interception of his career — his first as a Duke.
