Pittsburgh, Pa. – The Duquesne University volleyball team announced its 2025 schedule on Tuesday, featuring four non-conference tournaments to start the season, followed by 18 Atlantic 10 Conference matches.
Under the leadership of head coach
Steve Opperman, who's entering his 28th season as the winningest coach in program history, the Dukes will kick off their 2025 campaign at the Youngstown Invitational on Friday, August 29. The team will battle Canisius at 11:00 a.m., followed by a matchup against host Youngstown State at 7:00 p.m. Duquesne will wrap up the invitational on Saturday, August 30, with a noon match against Mercyhurst.
Duquesne will open the month of September by returning to UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse for the first time in 2025, co-hosting the Chick-fil-A Robinson Classic with Robert Morris from September 5-6. The Dukes begin tournament play on Friday, Sept. 5, facing Loyola University Maryland at 11:00 a.m., followed by a matchup with FDU at 6:00 p.m. Duquesne will wrap up the event on Saturday, Sept. 6, traveling up Route 376 to take on Robert Morris at 3:00 p.m.
The Dukes continue their non-conference slate with a trip to Miami (Ohio) for the Best Western Invitational, set for September 12-13. Duquesne opens play on Friday, Sept. 12, against Southern Indiana at 1:30 p.m., followed by a 4:30 p.m. matchup with Middle Tennessee State. The invitational wraps up on Saturday, Sept. 13, when the Dukes face host Miami at 3:00 p.m. They then close out non-conference play by co-hosting another tournament with Robert Morris from September 19-20. The Dukes will take on the University at Buffalo on Friday, followed by a matchup with Saint Francis on Saturday.

The Atlantic 10 will once again use a scheduling format where the Dukes play consecutive games against the same opponent over a single weekend, with no return matches. The only exception is Dayton, as Duquesne will host the Flyers on September 30 and then travel to play at UD on October 21.
Atlantic 10 play begins on the road, with the Dukes visiting VCU on September 26-27. They will then return to Pittsburgh for their A-10 home opener against Dayton on Friday, September 30, at 5:00 p.m. inside UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse. Duquesne will kick off October with a home series against George Mason on October 3-4, before embarking on a stretch of five consecutive road matches.
The Dukes begin their road trip at Loyola Chicago (Oct. 10-11), before heading to New York to face Fordham (Oct. 17-18) and conclude their road stretch with a trip to Dayton on Tuesday, Oct. 21. Duquesne then returns home to the Bluff for six consecutive matches, starting with Rhode Island on Oct. 24-25 before Saint Louis (Oct. 31-Nov. 1) and Davidson (Nov. 8-9) round out the home slate. The Dukes will wrap up regular season play with a road trip to George Washington on Nov. 14-15.
The top six teams at the end of the regular season will compete in the 2025 Atlantic 10 Championships, which will be held on November 21-23 at VCU's Siegel Center in Richmond, Va.
