Wexford, Pa. – The Duquesne University men's tennis team concluded its regular season on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 5-2 decision to Mecyhurst at the Oxford Athletic Club during non-conference action. With the loss, the Dukes fall to 4-10 overall this season.

In doubles play, the Lakers took the early point, winning two of three competitions. At the top spot, Juniors Alfrendo Vogelaar and Keita Duclos downed Colm Schultz and Sviat. Koliadynski while freshmen Aril Kayra Tuna and Arnau Anton Garcia dropped a 6-4 decision to Lukas Cabue Valverde and Danylo Rekun. At the final slot, freshmen Enrique Lana and Uvan Patel fell to Mykhalio Polishchuck and David Mengher, 6-4.

Mercyhurst would take singles play, capturing four of six matches. Vogelaar fell to Rekun, 7-5, 6-4 at the number one spot while Anton Garcia lost a 6-7, 7-6, 14-12 decision to Valverde at the two slot. At third singles, Duclos was defeated by Koliadynski, 7-5, 6-3 before Tuna secured a 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 win over Schultz at the fourth position. At the final two spots, Lana captured a 6-3, 6-2 win over Polishchuck before freshman Teo Papadopoulos downed Mengher, 6-2, 6-2.

UP NEXT
Duquesne is idle for a week before heading to Orlando, Fla., to compete in the Atlantic 10 Tournament from Thursday, April 23 through Sunday, April 27.
