Pittsburgh, Pa. – In the first installment of spring weekly honors from the Atlantic 10, freshman Sasha Petrochko of the Duquesne University golf team earned her fourth A-10 Rookie of the Week nod of the year.

The Dukes opened their 2025 spring season in Melbourne, Fla., competing at the Columbia Classic at Duran Golf Club. Petrochko led Duquesne individually, posting a 54-hole score of 227 (+11) to finish in a tie for 24th with six other student-athletes.

Petrochko opened with a 76 (+4), handed in a 75 (+3) in the second round and closed with a 76. Each of her three birdies during the tournament came on the back nine, including one each on a par five, par four and par three.

During the 2024-25 season, in addition to being selected as the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week four times, Petrochko, a native of Hermitage, Pa., was also selected A-10 Golfer of the Week after her performance last fall at the Roseann Schwartz Invitational in Boardman, Ohio. Petrochko is one of two golfers for the Dukes that has been named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week this season, as junior Lindsey Powanda garnered the final honor of the fall campaign.

Led by head coach Colleen Meyers, Duquesne returns to action with the NKU Spring Fling, which takes place in Vero Beach, Fla., at Sandridge Golf Club. Play opens Saturday, March 8, and concludes Sunday, March 9.
