Fairfax, Va. – The Duquesne University men's tennis team battled at George Mason on Sunday morning, falling 4-0 during Atlantic 10 action. With the loss, the Dukes fell to 2-9 overall and 0-5 in conference play.

The Patriots would take an early 1-0 lead, securing two of three doubles matches. Juniors Alfrendo Vogelaar and Keita Duclos secured a 6-3 win over Zavan Fahim and Jacco Arends at the top spot. At the second doubles, freshmen Aril Kayra Tuna and Arnau Anton Garcia fell 7-5 to Ekansh Kumar and Shari Saeed before classmates Tancredi Alfano and Enrique Lana dropped a 6-2 decision to Milan Gonela and Dustin Ha in the final slot.

George Mason controlled singles play, taking the top three matches to secure the win. Vogelaar fell to Kumar, 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 before Keita lost a 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 match to Lotikar at second singles. At the third slot, Tuna fell to Arends, 7-6 (5), 4-6, 6-4. Anton Garcia was up 6-4 on Fahim before the match was registered as unfinished.

Duquesne returns back to the Oxford Athletic Club on Saturday, April 5, when it welcomes St. Bonaventure for a league contest.
