Richmond, Va. – The Duquesne University men's tennis team traveled to Richmond on Saturday after afternoon, falling 6-1 in Atlantic 10 play. With the loss, the Dukes dropped to 2-8 overall this season and 0-3 in league action.
In doubles play, Richmond took two of three matches to secure the early point. Juniors
Keita Duclos and
Alfrendo Vogelaar fell to Cole Brashear / Davis Wiley, 6-2 at the top spot while freshmen
Tancredi Alfano and
Enrique Lana dropped a 6-4 decision to Dylan Atkinson / Otto Sewell at the third doubles.
During singles action, the Spiders took 5 of six matches to take the victory. Freshman
Arnau Anton Garcia captured the lone win, capturing a 6-3, 6-3 win over Otto Sewell at fourth singles. At the number one spot, Vogelaar was dropped by Wiley, 6-2, 6-2 before Duclos dropped a 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 decision to Pritchard at the number two spot. At third singles, freshman
Aril Kayra Tuna fell to Atkinson, 6-0, 4-6, 7-5 while Lana was defeated by Sam Rathmanner, 7-5, 6-3. Freshman
Teo Papadopoulos capped the night by dropping a 6-3, 6-3 match to Portnoy at the sixth spot.

Duquesne returns to action on Sunday, March 30, when it travels to George Mason for an Atlantic 10 matchup.
