Philadelphia, Pa. – The Duquesne University men's tennis team traveled to Saint Joseph's on Sunday, dropping a 6-1 match inside the Springton Tennis Club during league play. With the loss, the Dukes fell to 2-6 overall and 0-2 in Atlantic 10 action.

In doubles play, the Hawks captured two of three matches to take an early lead on the day. At the first position, freshmen Arnau Anton Garcia and Uvan Patel fell to Othman Bezzaz and Ernesto Ruy, 6-2 before juniors Alfrendo Vogelaar and Keita Duclos downed Matthew Dubas and Santiago Valle 7-5 at the two spot. In the final slot, freshmen Aril Kayra Tuna and Enrique Lana lost to Justus Agbo and Matthew Cizmarik 6-4.

In singles competition, Saint Joseph's captured five of the six matches to take the win. Vogelaar captured the lone win for the Dukes at the top spot, collecting a 2-6, 6-4, 10-6 come-from-behind win over Agbo. At the second slot, Duclos dropped a 6-4, 6-1 loss to Ruy while Tuna was downed 6-0, 7-6 (11-9) at third singles. Anton Garcia fell to Dubas, 6-2, 6-3 while Lana and freshman Tancredi Alfano were delt 8-4 losses to Othman Bezzaz and Matthew Cizmarik.
