Wexford, Pa. – The Duquesne University women's tennis team hosted Toledo on Sunday afternoon, dropping a 7-0 decision at the Wexford Athletic Club in non-conference action. With the loss, the Dukes dropped to 2-5 overall.

In doubles play, the Rockets took two of three matches to capture the early point. At first doubles, sophomore Mila Badics and junior Kaya Rand secured a 6-3 win over Audrey Moutama and Jacklynka Scholten before sophomore Alexandra O'Brien and junior Taisia Yakunina fell 6-3 to Gaby Rondon and Annika Munson. At the final spot, freshmen Denisse Arinez Guilarte and Sofia Lopez-Linares Perez lost to Jone Ibanez and Catherine Rhegness, 6-4.

Toledo would take the match after securing all six singles matches. Badics fell to Moutama 6-3, 7-5 at the top spot while Rand battled but dropped 4-6, 6-2, 6-10 decision to Rondon at the second slot. At third singles O'Brien was dealt a 6-1, 6-3 from Scholten before Yakunina fell to Ibanez, 6-1, 6-3. In the last two slots, sophomore Sofia Serrano lost 6-0, 6-1 to Munson while Arinez Guilarte dropped a tough 3-6, 7-5, 2-10 to Rhegness.

Duquesne returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 22, when it hosts Lafayette for a non-conference match at the Oxford Athletic Club, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
